Government Policies and Initiatives

March 2025 saw the Rajasthan government launch several key policies and schemes aimed at social welfare, education, environment, and urban development. The 'Shiksha Sanjeevani Bima Yojana' was introduced by Education Minister Madan Dilawar on 26 February 2025 at Residency School, Udaipur, targeting accident insurance for students in classes 1-5. The scheme aims to ensure continuity in education, prevent child labor, and promote financial inclusion via Digital India. The state also advanced its circular economy agenda, with the establishment of an Environment Management Centre, preparation of a new policy for treated water use, and the introduction of a Green Budget—the first in India. Rajasthan is set to launch a Circular Economy Incentive Scheme offering up to Rs 2 crore to MSMEs and startups, and has introduced the Rajasthan Vehicle Scrapping Policy to promote disposal of old vehicles. In the energy sector, the state signed an MoU with Singareni Collieries Company Limited for 1600 MW thermal projects in Telangana, with equal power sharing between Rajasthan and Telangana. The Swachh Energy Policy-2024 sets a target of 125 GW solar energy production by 2030. Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Yewale was appointed as Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur, by Governor and Chancellor Haribhau Bagde. The Rajasthan Assembly Speaker renamed the famous Foy Sagar Lake in Ajmer to 'Varun Sagar'. The Constitution Club of Rajasthan was inaugurated for legislators and former legislators, making Rajasthan the first state to have such a facility.
