National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) is the sole entrance examination for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS courses in all medical and dental colleges across India, including AIIMS and JIPMER. Conducted by NTA, the exam is taken offline (pen and paper) and sees over 20 lakh aspirants every year. NEET UG is among the toughest competitive exams in India with an acceptance rate of around 10%.
Eligibility Criteria
| Education | Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology. Minimum 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC, 45% for PwD). |
| Age Limit | Minimum age 17 years as on December 31 of the admission year. No upper age limit (as per Supreme Court order). |
| Attempts | No restriction on number of attempts. |
