Good hospitality creates a positive guest experience, which is defined as how comfortable and supported a guest feels during their visit. Key aspects of hospitality include etiquette, which refers to polite behaviour such as greeting, tone, posture, and listening. To provide effective hospitality, certain materials and items are essential, including signage or placards to indicate entry, exit, seating, water points, help desks, and washrooms; seating arrangements with chairs, tables, mats, and waiting areas; cleanliness items like waste bins, tissues, cleaning cloths, and sanitisers; team attire such as uniforms, aprons, name tags, badges, gloves, or masks; recording materials like notebooks, pens, feedback sheets, and audio-visual devices; safety kits including first-aid kits and emergency contact lists; serving items such as trays, cups, glasses, and water dispensers; and measuring tools like scales or tapes for accurate measurements.
