What is REET?

Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) is the state-level teacher eligibility test conducted by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE). Qualifying REET is mandatory for appointment as a primary teacher (Level 1 — Class 1 to 5) or upper primary teacher (Level 2 — Class 6 to 8) in Rajasthan government schools. REET Level 1 focuses on child development, languages, and elementary subjects, while Level 2 covers subject-specific pedagogy for middle school teaching.

Eligibility Criteria

EducationLevel 1: D.El.Ed. (BSTC) or B.Ed. with 50% marks. Level 2: B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. with the relevant subject, minimum 50% marks.
Age Limit18–40 years (various relaxations as per Rajasthan government norms).
AttemptsCertificate valid for lifetime (NCTE notification 2022).
