Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) is the state-level teacher eligibility test conducted by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE). Qualifying REET is mandatory for appointment as a primary teacher (Level 1 — Class 1 to 5) or upper primary teacher (Level 2 — Class 6 to 8) in Rajasthan government schools. REET Level 1 focuses on child development, languages, and elementary subjects, while Level 2 covers subject-specific pedagogy for middle school teaching.
Eligibility Criteria
| Education | Level 1: D.El.Ed. (BSTC) or B.Ed. with 50% marks. Level 2: B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. with the relevant subject, minimum 50% marks. |
| Age Limit | 18–40 years (various relaxations as per Rajasthan government norms). |
| Attempts | Certificate valid for lifetime (NCTE notification 2022). |

- Approx 15–20 lakh candidates appear for REET
- No negative marking — all questions are of equal marks (1 mark each)
