NALANDA UNIVERSITY

Nalanda University, located in present-day Rajgir, Bihar, India, was a premier centre of higher learning from the 5th to the 12th century CE. When visited by Chinese scholars Xuan Zang and I-Qing in the 7th century CE, it was known as Nala and was famous for its extensive curriculum and vibrant academic life.
